A honed finish is not quite as smooth as a polished one but may still require restoration if used in a high traffic area.

Preserve marble tile floors with a clear, buffable surface to reduce scuffing and staining. After two coats of sealer, the surface may be polished with a low-speed buffer. Periodically strip and reapply the sealer as necessary.
